The most disappointing thing I have
discovered about writing is that my readers will never have a grasp
of my worlds like I do. All of the histories and tidbits will never
make it into my stories. There's just too much information to share.
Right now, they'll have to remain my secrets.
I recently did a little bit of editing
and realized that so many of the wonderful things I wanted to share
with all of you are dragging the flow down and putting my word count
way above what it needs to be. So, I'm taking the scissors to it soon
and snipping out many of the interesting but relatively useless facts
to make it a better reading experience for everyone. It kind of feels
like cutting out part of my heart.
Silver lining? I WILL make the
information available somewhere after the book is released. That way,
those who are interested can learn more about Maylen and the
characters. If it takes a while, I give you guys complete permission
to nag me until I get it done. Just give me a month or so after it
hits the shelves so I can bask in my accomplishment for a while. Soak
up the dream state and all.
As always readers, thanks for checking
in! You can also now find me on Facebook, G+, and Twitter. For a special treat, look me up on Pinterest to find pics of people, places and other items that inspire pieces of my story. For those that don't have a Pinterest account, I'll try to get them moved over to my Facebook page as well. If you
have any questions or comments, I'd love to hear them!
Thought for the day: Still so much
work to do. I need Twizzlers and Corn Nuts.
Now that's a silver lining. :)
